Welcome to Data Bootcamps through WithYouWithMe

Empower • Lead • Innovate

Health Canada (HC) and Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) are working to build employee data literacy as part of their Data Strategy. The launch of these data bootcamps will provide a path to upskilling employees by increasing data capacity, data literacy, and make greater use of data in evidence informed policy making. We recognize the diverse range of skillsets within each organization so more advanced courses will be offered to those with existing knowledge of data, with a focus on data storytelling and more advanced techniques.

Why a data bootcamp?

The goal is to equip our team members, regardless of discipline and level, with critical data skills essential and relevant to your work and career development via data training opportunities, ultimately enhancing our collective data proficiency.

What's in it for you?

The opportunity to acquire and/or reinforce important data skills using a hands-on approach while learning directly from data experts and peers. Increase and solidify your data knowledge, skill and capacity through the use of powerful data tools and software to manage, analyze, and interpret data but also effectively presenting the story of the data.

How does the bootcamp work?

These courses are free with manager approval. Courses will be offered virtually, in both official languages throughout the year. They will be open to all experience and skill levels.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need to do the skill mapping exercise to access training?
The skill mapping is one of the features of the Potential platform offered to you at no cost. The Health Canada and PHAC representatives have requested that it be made optional. You can therefore choose to do this or not. If you have questions on the skill mapping, you can write to studentsupport@withyouwithme.com.
If I choose to complete the skill mapping exercise, do I have to complete all the assessments in one go?
No, there are 4 components to the profile and your results are saved after you complete each component. You can take a break between each assessment if you need.
Who sees my results?
Only formally approved individuals have access to look at the results, notably the WithYouWithMe representatives as well as a limited number of the team members from HC and PHAC who work jointly with WYWM on this project.
What skills are available for me to learn?
WYWM offers a variety of digital training courses, you can see them on our website. Starting with basics is the best option, for example the Data Foundations course, is available to all.
